Jackie Kolovrat - Journal One
I am working as a pre k volunteer at an elementary school. Obviously society looks at pre schoolers as simplistic but you are helping more than just them. By helping out with these kids and reading them stories and teaching them things we are helping the teacher to expand the children's minds and we are also helping the children's parents by giving the children attention that they might not be receiving at home because parents are busy with work. Most see children as being helpless because at this point in their lives they have not fully developed into the person they will become so it is fair to say that the group is simplistic because they have not lived and learned. Interacting with children lets you go back to your childhood and find your imagination. As you grow up you sometimes lose this and when encountering children you are able to find it again.
